Q. Name and what you do?
Millie Anna Prelogar, College Student at The Green Room School, Instagram Influencer, Advocate for people with Down syndrome, Aspiring Actress and Model, Part-time Waitress.
Q. What are you most passionate about?
Acting because I want to show everyone around the world what people like me (with Down syndrome) are capable of.
Q. Who do you look up to/admire the most?
I REALLY don’t like picking favourites of anything. So, I want to name a few favourites who inspire me and why…
Sir Ian McKellen (he prefers I just call him Ian!) Because he’s one of the greatest actors of all time AND he was so kind and generous to share his spotlight with me and make it possible for me to now inspire 1000’s of people every day all over the world.
Rory Gilmore (Character in “Gilmore Girls”) Of everyone in the world (real and made up) she is the one I most want to be like in real life.
Lacey Turner (Actress in EastEnders) I have watched EastEnders since I’ve been a little girl (+ back episodes on YouTube) and her story inspires me that someday I might get a chance to play a character on EastEnders that will smash stereotypes about Down syndrome and be really popular with the audience.
Q. What’s your superpower?
Belief in myself + tireless persistence.
Q. What are you most proud of?
In my mainstream school I was the first student in my year to learn all the times tables beating the boy who was almost always the winner in maths stuff.
Q. What are your dreams for the future?
Rosa Parks started a change in America about rights of black people…I would like to be known for changing perceptions about people with Down syndrome and inspiring those with the condition to dream big and never stop reaching.
Q. What would you like people to know about what it’s like to have Down syndrome?
Having Down syndrome is no big deal… we can do anything we set our minds to with just a little extra help and support.
